Mute Math @ Avalon was sooooooo good! New London Fire and Action Action opened for Mute Math. New London Fire was alright. Action Action was so bad, and the sad thing for them was, I wasn’t the only person who thought so. Everyone around me was saying how glad they were that Action Action was done with their set because really, they were just not fun and entertaining at all. It was like nearly an hour worth of scream-o, and that definitely took its toll on my ears as well as Pam’s (she went to this concert with me).

It sucks that Action Action had to go before Mute Math because by the time Mute Math got on stage, my ears were literally hard of hearing. In fact, as I’m writing this right now, not even 2 hours after the show ended, my ears are still ringing (you know, that sound in your ears that sounds like you’re at the airport). Yeah, that’s how incredibly loud Action Action were and they really didn’t need to be because they sucked big time.

But most people at the venue were there for the main act, Mute Math, which totally blew everybody away. I’ve seen them before and they seem to just keep getting better! Man, I swear, if there’s one drummer I aspire to be like, it’s definitely Mute Math’s drummer. His rhythm and beat is out of this world and it sounds good! And this isn’t just a band that has one solid muscian–everyone in the band is awesome.

The drummer must have broken about a whole dozen pairs of sticks during the concert. He plays hard, but he plays well, so that’s ok for him to break so many sticks.

The highlight of my night was when the lead singer all of a sudden came down to the front of the stage and gave Pam a HUGE random hug. It was the funniest thing ever and the look on her face afterwards was just classic. Haha, but I think it’s neat that she can say she was hugged by the lead singer of Mute Math. Heck, I wanted to be hugged by someone in the band! Even though I didn’t get my random hug from any band members, I did touch the tambourine and the weird electric guitar instrument that he played. He let me play it while they were doing a song. It was quite fun!

I think Pam is my favorite person to go see concerts with! I hope she keeps reading my upcoming concert posts on Doobybrain and volunteering herself to join me in company at concerts I want to go to! WHEEE! Awesome night! Let’s do it again!
