What did I do this week (in June)

L2R: Meggie and I enjoying some pretty nasty balogna from Pathmark; the balogna; the houses in SI are “surprised; the Escalade with the ducks decal that Pam and I saw on the way to SI; Bran playing Uno; Uno cards; Pam playing Uno (and possibly going on the wrong turn–punishment!).
What have I gathered from all of my experiences this week?
Well, for one, balogna sure doesn’t taste as good as I remember it tasting from when I was younger. I used to love balogna sandwiches, but after eating balogna the other night, man, forget it! I hate balogna! The particular brand of balogna we bought also felt like it had sand in it. It was coarse in a very odd way. I have no idea why.
Also, the houses in Staten Island near Brandon and Pam’s place look like they are surprised. The mouths or doors are all open and the eyes or windows are wide-eyed in wonder or astonishment. It’s amusing to think that the houses are alive with personality. Staten Island in general though is just a nice place. Most people would think I’m crazy for saying this, but I really like going to suburbia and just “exploring” but in a very calm sort of way. I think the suburbs are just so unfamiliar to me that I find them that much more intriguing and wonderful. Of all of the 5 boroughs of NYC, Staten Island is the one I know least and this may be why I like going there–because I don’t know it at all. It’s almost like visiting a new place or going on vacation without having to pay the plane fare or hotel prices. Most of all, I think I just like driving there and spending time with good folks doing nothing in particular.
More importantly however, I have learned that the card game Uno, when played with the rules for 7’s and 0’s and “doubling up of cards” is very very very fun. It’s also very fun when you have to pick up two extra cards because you go on somebody else’s turn. Haha, man, it’s good to play modified Uno (I think that’s what I’ll call it) with friends! Regular rules are for sissies!
