Google your race - racial profiling with Google. I thought it was so funny when I read the list for “black people” and saw “talking back to movie screens”. In my experiences, this is true. Of course, I know not all stereotypes are true. Just some of them. :P

The “Asian People” list is good too I guess, but I wasn’t quite satisfied with it, so I did my own search for “Chinese people are know for” and here’s what I found:

  • Chinese people are known for long lives as well as extraordinary strengths even in old age.
  • Chinese people are known for their food , which most of us like very much.
  • Chinese people are known for their traditional virtues of focusing on family, respecting the old and caring for the young.
  • Chinese people are known for making toys, not computers!
  • Chinese people are known for being obssesed with saving money.
  • Chinese people are known for their enthusiasm rather than high standard of English speaking.

This is a fantastic story of one man’s quest to retrieve his friend’s lost Sidekick. If there ever was a story that showed the power of users and the internet, this must be it. Read up on how not to steal a Sidekick II and see how this young 16 year-old girl may have learned the lesson of her life through a simple electronic device. Should have just returned it. Tsk tsk.

I came across this Bump Top prototype desktop metpahor while browsing popular links at del.icio.us. I think this whole organizational structure is pure genius, and everything that I do on a physcial desk was thought of and put into action in this prototype. I’d like to see where this goes.

I’m posting this because I find Pixar and John Lasseter incredibly fascinating. I mean, together, they have brought in an incredible amount of money and success all without a single movie flop yet (let’s cross those fingers now). How does he do it? I don’t know, but from the short video above from his Cal Arts days, you can see that his talent for animation has already been ignited from way back in the 1970’s. Not entirely entertaining, but it’s cool to see where he was then and where he is now.

Today was an incredibly fun day. I went to the AIDS event in Grand Central and to make things short, it was very powerful and well thought out. I’ll write a full post later. For now, cheers!
