Hysteria is good.
Hello friends and family and pets. I’ve been listening to Muse lately (as of yesterday, actually because of Yelena) and I can’t stop listening to this one song called Hysteria. The song’s been in a couple of a movies I think and maybe some video games. I listened to it on constant one-track repeat on my walk to work this morning and I must say, it got me so pumped to work! It’s such a wonderful little tune. Hysteria is taken from their Absolution album (the whole album is good).
And for all the talk of Muse being too much like Radiohead, I say whatever. Radiohead is really boring, in my opinion and they really only have a few good songs. Muse, on the other hand–at least so far–has been OK’d to be in my ears. :) I like!
Until they invent teleportation units to transport people directly from terminal waiting areas into their designated airplane seats, the free-for-all style of boarding an airplane will suffice.
I knew they’d put out a black Nintendo DS Lite. It just made sense to. And golly, it’s pretty and shiny! Suck it, PSP.
Ok, just randomly, I went to look at the collection of Puma sneakers at Zappos and I came across my Puma Disc Blaze in [official color names] prism violet, online lime, lime punch, vaporous gray. Umm, I had no idea they were worth $103+!! Check out those reviews too, they are super good. If I had bought these from Zappos I would have written a good review too because these babies are so awesome and comfortable.
But I think that if there’s one thing that working at Puma has already instilled in me, it’s that I have grown to love wild shoe colors. The special edition fabrics, colors, and schemes for some of the shoes that I see are really cool. Unfortunately, I know that I won’t be able to take them when we’re done with them at the showroom (but the ones I can take are nice too). Anyway, I really want a pair of Puma RS-100 LE’s (not specifically in this color, but it wouldn’t be bad either). I wonder if I’ll be able to score a pair before I leave this internship. Who knows.
I’ve always hated how Asian girls try to act cute. It kinda grosses me out–the whole toes pointed in, head down, hands crossed, eyes droopy, eyelashes fluttering, rosy cheeked image (some of which you can see for yourself in Fruits and Fresh Fruits by Shoichi Aoki). Anyway, here’s what some people think of the whole “cute” Asian thing in regards to Japanese people, who undoubtedly have made a heck of a lot of money exporting the cute persona.
Sceptics here say Japan’s pursuit of cute is a sign of an infantile mentality and worry that Japanese culture - historically praised for exquisite understatement as sparse rock gardens and woodblock prints - may be headed toward doom.
What ever happened to Samurais, ninjas, and violent manga/comics? What I can’t understand is why no other culture in this world has embraced cute like the Asian cultures have. What’s one great way to instantly alientate oneself? Why, nothing better than to speak in a high voice and take little steps everywhere…and wear pigtails and have pop-star-crazy hair. Blech.
Here’s a perfect example of bad Japanese cuteness. Seriously, WHAT. THE. HELL. Hahahahaha! Thanks G.
Umm, wow. The New School’s Bob Kerrey gets a total pay package of $542,540 a year. Seriously, what is being left for the school? [via]
The One.org website gets a facelift and is now “powered by Yahoo!”. Umm, great?
Hehe, Jess sent me the video above. It’s a skeleton on a motorcycle scaring people at a cemetary. So good.
At first, I was like, It doesn’t take this long to make one compact disc! But then as I watched the video, I came to realize that this whole process was to make a MASTER compact disc (kinda like a gold record I guess–but I really have no idea).
Wow, numbers certainly do have an effect on me. These cancer awareness ads are good.
I know what my next post is going to be about. Stay tuned.
