Pirates of the Caribbean (2): Dead Man’s Chest
I love it when I can end a day just right without actually having planned anything to do. Jocelyn called me out of nowhere today and asked me if I wanted to go ahead and watch a sneak preview screening of a new movie. We didn’t really know what movie it was going to be, but I decided to go anyway because I love movies. Jocey knew it was going to be a sequel to a previous summer blockbuster, so from that, we gathered that it might be Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest.
We were right.
The movie screening took place at the world famous Ziegfeld Theater on 54th street between 6th and 7th avenues with tons of press people in the audience (it was fun to sit beside them all). It was my first time being in that venue and it totally just blew me away. When I think of a movie theater, the Ziegfeld Theater is what I think I’ve always imagined such a place being; a wonderful array of red and gold curtains and chairs, and one of the largest movie spaces I’ve ever been in (think of a broadway theater-sized space, and well, that’s what it was like).
I was just as amazed with the viewing space as with the movie itself. Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest is really good. It’s quite a long movie, but it in no way is boring. It was thoroughly entertaining from beginning to end and the special effects are done pretty well. The story and plot at first seem to go all over the place, but they all come together quite nicely at the end. And, not to spoil anything, but at the end of the movie (not the end of the credits), you’ll be greeted with a nice surprise.
This movie is definitely going to be a summer blockbuster for sure. It’s got action, humor, and suspense all locked up and ready to be released on any moviegoer. Just make sure you brush up on the first Pirates of the Caribbean before you go see the second one. It’ll just flow that much better if you do. Trust me.
So go and see the movie when it comes out on July 7th!!
Thanks to Jocelyn, Benny, and Mike for being some good company tonight. :)

[...] We carried around a ticket for Pirates of the Caribbean and hopped until our eyes and bodies were sore. As most of you know from my previous review that the second Pirates movie is really good. But to save energy, I’ll just keep the reviews for the other 3 movies quite short. [...]
