Wow.

Heh, it’s nice when the inventors of a product I approve of visits and comments. Wendy Brodie, inventor of the Bodyflik that I linked to yesterday, reassures me (and you too) that the Bodyflik is a wonderful product and can literally do no harm to you if used properly (she demonstrated it on her own skin many times in a matter of hours and she is totally fine). So if you want to be right up there with the cool kids, definitely go ahead and get yourself a Bodyflik and begin drying off the better way.

What the heck. The McCarren Park Pool is no fun anymore. The converted concert space is nice and all, but the empty pool just had so much more of a mysterioius aura when it was an abandoned hole in the ground. Now it’s hipster central. Gross. I meant to post this a LOONNNG time ago. I just came across the link again in my drafts folder and I thought, better late than never. Flickr Blog points to a small little pool of photos called The Blink Of An Eye, a showcase of some of the “hidden” treasures of the Flickr community. The actual showcase is scheduled to open in NYC on August 2nd @ 267 5th Ave, 4th fl, 6-9pm. You must RSVP for the event.
There are so many photos to go through (2756 photos at the time of this post). I browsed a couple of pages randomly and took note of these photos:

The cost of making a penny by the end of this fiscal year will be 1.23 cents. Since that puts the penny in an odd place of being worth less than it is to produce it, many people are flirting with the idea of abolishing the US penny altogether.
The cost of making a nickel will also be about 5.73 cents, so…maybe the nickel will be next to consider. Probably not though. Maybe they’ll just round everything up to the nearest 5. On one hand, things would be easier to count, but on the other hand, things might seem to be a bit more expensive. :O
