Life is short, you’re capable

First things first: Arrow Tag is probably going to be the reason why you get fired in the next few days. This game is friggin addicting (and it’s simple too!). This is almost as good as Planarity.

Timbuk2 has pretty good [and quick] customer service. I emailed them the other day because I found a defect in my current Timbuk2 bag. The vinyl lining on the inside of my bag was cracking at the seems and at places that my bag didn’t even normally crease at. It was very weird, because the vinyl looks like it’s just kind of peeling off! Obviously, this worried me a bit, so I emailed them with concerns for my product warranty. It turns out that for some reason or another, the old vinyl lining was defective and “bad” and they have since upgraded the type of vinyl they use inside their new bags. Unfortunately for me, my current bag fell under the category of bags that were made with the defective vinyl lining. But since Timbuk2 stands behind their products, they offered to completely replace it for free upon my bag’s arrival at their warehouse. This made me happy. I’m considering the option of sending my bag in, but the only thing that’s stopping me from doing so is the fact that I’ll have to break yet another bag in (this means lots of dropping, dragging, opening/closing, and lots of packing and throwing…). Not that that really is anything too bad, but I just don’t want to have a bag that looks new. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s the look of a brand spanking new Timbuk2 bag. They should just have an option to age the bag by having employees throw it around and dust it up before it’s sent to you. Haha, I think that’ll be great! :)
Anyway, I think I’ll send my bag in this week so I can go ahead and order my new bag as soon as possible — hopefully before school starts again in early September!

Fetus in fetu is scary!

I totally forgot to post this, but looks like this past Monday, August 21, Homestar Runner and the gang celebrated their 10th anniversary with a release of a new toon based on the original Homestar Runner story book!

Land Rover Defender 2007
I like it when they make new cars look old and then jack up the inside with technology to the max! This is the case with the new 2007 Land Rover Defender, winner of the most beautiful box car ever! I like!!

Middle schoolers and high schoolers (and wedding goers) beware: You may start seeing people dance to Chicken Noodle Soup more and more and more. Sigh…
I think it’d be totally hilarious if cutiemish did a video of her dancing to this song. Yeah, that’d be so awesome! Hot dog!

Since when did dpreview use YouTube videos in their reviews? Since they reviewed the Canon Rebel XTi (EOS 400D), that’s when! The camera’s got one wicked tech update from the 300D with that killer sensor cleaning mechanism.
Canon also recently introduced three new point and shoots: A630, A640, and A710 IS. Read up on them yourself, lazy bum.

Check it! Pink and gray DS Lites are coming too! This after news that Sony is releasing a flaming pink PSP of their own.

Pluto is no longer a planet!

After a tumultuous week of clashing over the essence of the cosmos, the International Astronomical Union stripped Pluto of the planetary status it has held since its discovery in 1930.

Pluto is now labeled a “dwarf planet” instead of just a planet planet. The newly demoted planet’s fans aren’t rejoicing at the fact that their 9th planet got the boot. I agree, I liked the solar system as a 9-planet illustration.

I guess cutting class these days is friggin easy. That, or teachers are friggin getting dumber.

I saw The Descent today. I couldn’t stop laughing. I couldn’t stop yelling at the people in my head. I couldn’t stop jumping. Take what you will from that short movie review. By the way, I don’t know how this movie got 7 stars out of 10 on IMDB. Sheesh!
I didn’t know this going into the movie, but this film was released a year ago in Europe. Not that I support it at all, but I bet there’s a torrent already out for this movie, especially since the DVD is already out.

I think this is a pretty bold move from CNN:

CNN will mark the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks by replaying on the Internet the cable network’s coverage of that day’s events.

Viewers can watch how events unfolded starting at 8:30 a.m., minutes before the first reports of an airplane hitting the World Trade Center. The feed will run in real time, as the network showed it five years ago, until midnight.

Take it as you will, but I think it’s terrific that CNN is giving viewers a choice of whether or not to watch the events unfold “live” as it did 5 years ago, or to watch this year’s memorial service. It’ll be interesting to see how we react to the pictures, images, and words from anchors throughout the day, this year, as they were said 5 years ago. Are we jaded by threats of terrorism told on TV each night since 9/11? Has news reporting since 9/11 made us more aware of our world? I would think so. And I just think it’ll be good to see how news was compiled on that day. There was so much chaos going on that day that it might be worth it to see a news broadcast in its entirety as it fought to churn out up-to-the-minute news to keep us all informed. I’ll be tuning in whether you think it’s right or not.
