Back in time in my mind
It’s time to take a ride back in time in my mind. :)
A couple of years back, I used to have this old webcam setup in my room that folks would take pictures on when they came over. If you’ve been to my house lately, you know that I have people write on my walls whenever they drop on by. Well, the webcam was sort of a precursor to writing on my walls. Anyway, I totally forgot that I saved all of those pictures and the other day I came across the folder where I stored them.
Here’s a little known fact: Doobybrain.com (or at least the idea for the site before the domain name was bought) actually got started because of these webcam photos. I originally wanted a page that would show all of the photos in order, and once I got that up and running, the updating of links just came naturally. But if anybody is a long-time reader, you might remember the first page which was a dark crimson-red with no sides and a nice javascript clock that swirled around your mouse cursor. Hehe. :P
The photos are so funny and they bring back so many good memories, such as:
- random shots of me being totally retarded
- the day that JeffChin and K.Ho came over
- My current Timbuk2 bag when it was new!
- Harrison and Lilian coming over after school and totally whoring the camera
- early photos of those dark-rimmed glasses (my grandpa’s)
- THE. BIG. GREEN. PENCIL.
- The self-made (and un-painted) picture frame that Steph, TiffWong, and Melanie all made use of
- Calvin and Cindy
- being stupid with all of my crazy hats
- the triplets (Danica, Yelena, TiffLiu) being so entertained by Joey (and the webcam)
- TiffLiu’s prized cherry pin
- The missing Jesus shirt (from Urban Outfitters)
- Ann Shi, when we first started hanging out
- The introduction of Vanilla Coke (and drinking it with Bran)
- My old paper-clip-weight glasses — I lost those at Summer Conference 2002)
- The week when I had to change my phone 4 different times!
- Dying my hair midnight blue with Anna (and putting tin foil on my head)
- Me and my cousins, Vivian and Aric, being totally retarded
- THE. ORANGE. GUN.
- The first photo of Joyce Shen’s writing + drawing of Homestar on my desk — it’s still here!
- …all of the videos and animated gifs that came from these pictures…
I put the image together in that way so that it can be made into a life poster.
