Facebook is STILL whack

September 6, 2006 @ 2:49 am

Less than 24 hours since Facebook made some incredibly stupid changes to their pages, they publicize another blog entry (this time by Facebook creator, Mark Zuckerberg) attempting to reassure users that everything is just fine.

Just like in the previous entry, there is a space for users to submit comments, but when you submit the comment, nothing shows up underneath the entry and no other comments are shown. Way to be transparent, Facebook. What’s the point of hiding the comments? Afraid that the recent public outrage over the new redesign will grow into something more if others are allowed to read each other’s opinions? Heck, for a site that just made ALL of EVERYBODY’S information easily accessible, it’s hard to believe that comments would be hidden from view. Looks like the Facebook blog needs a News Feed of its own.

I hope Facebook staff are keeping up with the discontent of their users in their development forum (just a sample of the post titles tells you people are not taking the new change lightly) as well as on other sites around the web. One user even points out that the newly launched Facebook elections is being overshadowed by the whole circus surrounding the new Facebook facelift.

This page sums up most people’s sentiments about the new Facebook features and facelift. It’s not everybody’s opinion, but when mass amounts of users are threatening to close their Facebook accounts because of this, it’s something Facebook should deal with.

And I’ll admit, this is a bit rash, but some folks are even calling for a Facebook boycott on September 12.
