Come on over, down to the corner
When I miss New Jersey, I turn up and tune in to the following albums:
- Garden State soundtrack
- The Postal Service - Give Up
- Frou Frou - Details
The Sky Mirror at Rockefeller Center was unveiled yesterday. I think I am going to see it after I post this. I want to go during the day too, so anybody is welcome to come to that as well. Tomorrow [or today] maybe? Call me.

My love, Cindy, came home last weekend and we spent some time catching up. It’s so funny because every time I go over to her place, her mom and dad are just so funny. AND HER DAD HAS HUGE MUSCLES! WTF!!! I am so scared he’ll punch me out the window — but I shouldn’t be scared…it’s not like I’m doing anything wrong. Anyway, Lisa (her sister) must be really sick of us. Haha…well well well! I can’t wait to go up to Bing and wig out. You Bing folks will have to show me a fantastic time.
On Sunday, I walked around Union Square with Meggie to finish up a retarded roll of slide film. Fortunately for me, there was some kind of musical act performing at Union Square. The event was hosted by Time Out New York and was part of their Back To School Blowout. I was there when The Juan Maclean was performing. They’re an electronic/rock band that sounded really solid live. I really liked their stuff when I was standing there listening and taking photos. But when I came home and listened to the recordings, I felt differently. Ehh, they’re alright.
Call it my intuition, but I never signed my new credit card that I received after my previous one was used to buy a $500 Coach bag from Coach.com.
Thank goodness Citibank has that fantastic identity theft thing so they actually caught the transaction before it fully went through. I never lost any money or got charged for it. I just had to replace my card and the new card was here the next day! Super!
Whee! Cutiemish has a new video posted! Sorry, these are so random, but I find them quite amusing.
Did I post this one? I forget. Who cares, I’ll post it again if I did.
Maybe you saw it here first, but Death And Taxes: 2007 is by far the most comprehensive visual graphic display of the United States federal budget distribution.
Here are some things I noted personally:
- The United States cut funding for Safe and Drug Free School programs by -62%.
- THE NATIONAL DEBT CIRCLE IS SO LARGE THAT IT DOESN’T FIT ON THE GRAPH! The Nation Debt rose 7% to a whopping $9.350 Trillion!
- The military gets a whole lot of money
- The Global War on Terror uses $110 billion?!
The cool thing about the Death and Taxes: 2007 visual graph is that you can buy a 24″x36″ poster for $24 plus $4.95 shipping/handling. I would seriously consider buying this because I’m a huge sucker for useless information and pretty graphs (and shoot, this is both in one thing!). :D
This is a beautiful photo from the 7 train yard near Shea Stadium. I’ve passed it many times, but every time I don’t have my camera on me. This looks like a good place to sneak into. But I can’t even begin to imagine explaining myself if I was caught inside. :O
Umm, it looks like Thailand is about to crap itself. Or maybe Prime Minister (or is it the former Prime Minister) Thaksin Shinawatra is about to ruin his suit. Whatever the case is, members of the Royal Thai Army staged a coup and suddenly took control of the country and declared a state of martial law (sorta — there’s been steady uprising in the country for a while now).
I find that Wikipedia is a good source of instant information when it comes to things like this that I know little background information about. Of course, look to other places as well, but use that as a start.
Sbemails have lost their mojo a long time ago I think. Here’s proof: #158. There is nothing more random or dragged out.
RANDOM: The War On Terror Boardgame. The rules and cards look so interesting. This boardgame could actually make war temporarily feel like fun. Maybe. You can buy the boardgame for approximately $47 USD.
GASP! Somebody stole the planarity game (my favorite online past time) and called it “Unfolding“. What a shame!
Hahaha, Gawker launched a New York City Subway Smell Map and it’s based on onNYTurf’s Google maps subway map mashup. Gawker’s gonna need some help filling in the smells from around the city, so if your nose is active, go get reportin’!
EDIT: Wow, the subway map hack from onNYTurf runs so much faster than I remember!
Endgadget is giving away a Microsoft Zune every week for 5 weeks straight!
TOTALLY AWESOME: Angela from The Office is going to give away a limited amount of props from The Office to the first few people who comment on her Myspace post on Thursday morning (coincidentally, also the same day as the season 3 premiere on NBC)!
I spoke to one of our prop masters and they have agreed to give me a few Dunder Mifflin props from our set—that I am going to share with my myspace buddies! I will post a blog on Thursday the day of the premier with the list of items that I am getting and I will use the Jenna method to determine who gets what. The Jenna method: the first people to post a comment to my Thursday blog with the item they want will get that item. I will send them to you myself.
I’m so excited for this Thursday because The Office & Grey’s Anatomy return to TV! Primetime TV is so much better than movies these days. I’m getting excited just talking about it!
Talk about NY creativity! Here are NY-related haikus. One of them is written by David Sedaris (I believe it is the David Sedaris, not just some guy with the same name).
Oh, nice! Last.fm got a itsy-bitsy facelift. That link was for my music profile by the way. Ask me for some good music suggestions.
I’ve been in a dry creative spell lately. My photos suck (but I don’t really care about that) while my desire to improve them is going down at an alarming rate! What I really want to do, I’m not studying, but I’m doing anyway outside of school which brings me a lot more joy and satisfaction than sitting in class and looking at naked bodies of my classmates. But because I’m spending my time doing non-school stuff outside of school, I have little time for school stuff outside of school, which translates to bad homework ethic. Did that make any sense? It sure does! Read it again.
Simon’s ID and spray paint are my bestest friends. I sound so retarded. Ask me to say that line to you in person.
