Ok ok, sorry for the lackluster updates lately (actually, I don’t consider the videos lackluster :P), but I’ve just been so active and busy lately that I’ve had little time to just sit and update on random things. But hey, it’s Columbus Day today, so no work for me, which means I get to relax and chill out, and soak in all that’s happened in the past week. Let me update you all…

First things first, let me just say that the Samsung SGH-T629 is FANTASTIC. I got this phone just yesterday and already I’m loving every part of it. It’s sooooooo thin and man, the sliding mechanism is like oil (that’s a good thing!)!

EDIT: I hope you like the stupid video I made for the phone! YAY! STUPID VIDEO!!!

Photography Blog has some all-around photos of the Samsung NV10 (the awesome looking camera I posted previously). The camera looks nice and all, but according to the review, it falls short on image quality (it got a “below average” rating). But hey, at least the menu system is innovative still! Oh well, I guess the “second generation” of this camera will be better.

Well, this photo won’t give kids any new ideas at all. AT ALL.
Don’t forget about this week’s secrets!
Gray’s Papaya is raising their prices! :( I bet it’ll still be cheaper AND better than most any other hot dog you can get in NYC though. :)
Am I stupid, or has the New York Post website always looked like a real newspaper??? When did they do that?

Holy Moly, Tower Records on Broadway and West 4th street is closing!! It’ll be weird to see no Tower Records store there in the near future. I always took that Tower Records sighting as a sign that I was now “officially in SoHo”. Yeah, stupid, I know, but I did.

And heck, while I’m at it, why not link you to where the Uniqlo containers will be for the upcoming week as they promote their November 10th grand opening on Broadway.

  • 10/13-15 NoHo, NW corner of Lafayette & Houston Streets.

I saw the yellow one in Union Square early Saturday morning (I was there around 5AM). These things look neat. I haven’t shopped at one yet though, so I’m kinda wanting to go to the next one (location shown above).

The Rifles have an awesome website made by Smiling Wolf. I’ll also mention that their music is quite good, so do listen in.

Speaking of bands, Phoenix is worth a listen as well.

Are these not some insane hoodies by CLH (Creating Limitless Heights)?

There’s an article from the New York Times out that says that holding hands has great significance in this day of sexual revolutions. The act of holding someone’s hand can convey a whole spectrum of messages to outsiders as well as to each of the people involved.

“It is a lot more intimate to hold hands nowadays than to kiss,” said Joel Kershner, 23. Because of that, he said, reaching for someone’s hand these days has more potential for rejection than leaning in for a smooch at a party where alcohol is flowing.

But also, researchers speculate that the decrease in public hand-holding might have something to do with the fact that the public is just getting too crowded for casual hand lock. Researchers however, are quick to note that the increase in cell phone and virtual online presence has also played a role in decreasing hand holding. But check this…

“Based on what we’ve seen, when we get more physical intimacy we get better relationships, whether a mother and an infant or a couple,” said Tiffany Field, the director of the Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami School of Medicine.

Heh, pretty neat, huh. :)

North Korea conducted a nuclear test recently. WTF.

My goodness, can you imagine your neighborhood any more saturated with Starbucks stores? Because if you can’t, you better start since Starbucks is planning on doubling their nationwide store locations to a whopping 40,000!!!
Forget about the business expansion for a bit and check this out: Did you know you could listen to samples of the music that they play in Starbucks at Hear Music - The Sound of Starbucks? Yep! I often times sit in Starbucks and think, wow, this is pretty good lounging music, and now I have a place to go back to and see what song it was and who sings it.

Hahahahaha, these remind me of Jane’s students’ papers.

WTH! This Marco Tempest dude is friggin crazy. I tried to see what Wikipedia had to say about him, but there is no entry for this fantastic street magician. Here’s his website though, and you can check out the rest of his videos on YouTube.

Here’s another one. These could actually be good advertising for the camera phone (whatever it is).

Alright. Enjoy the day off!
