It’s that 19 year picture post!
Ladies and gentlemen, in a little under 24 hours, I will officially be 20 years old. Yes, that’s right. I will have officially been on this planet for 20 years tomorrow, October 23, at 8:32PM. It hasn’t hit me at all that I will be passing the 2 decade mark in less than one day. I think what a lot of people do at these 10-year milestones during their lifetime is they sit back and look at the things they’ve done and assess whether they’ve accomplished all that they’ve wanted up until this point. If they have, then they go on with a heart of content, intending to conquer even more. However, if they haven’t accomplished everything they’ve wanted up until now, this is where they “re-structure” their lives so that at the next multiple of 10, they can look back and say that things in the previous 10 years have gone well.
For me, turning 20 isn’t such a big deal. I think the only “big” part about it is that I’m no longer a teen because the age 20 has no such letter ordering to form the word “teen” in it. Twenteen? Haha, ok, probably wouldn’t work. Anyway, I’m thinking back at the past 10 years to see if I’ve had it good, and according to my judgement, I believe I have. I remember turning 10 and just feeling so much like a grown boy. Just the fact that I had a two-digit age meant that I was on the same playing field as the “big boys”. Who would have thought that I’d turn 20 before the feeling of excitement over a two-digit age would fade away. :)
So here I am on the verge of turning 20 trying to think about what the next 10 years will bring me. Will I get married? Will I have kids? Will I finish school and go into fashion photography? Or will I be doing something in a completely different field? Will I be as content as I am now? DO I KNOW MY WIFE?! Those are the questions running through my head at the moment. But it’s not like I think of those things all the time. I’m simply thinking of them now because I am thinking about my future. I’ve always known for a fact that the future is pretty much unpredictable, so I’ve never bothered to plan too much ahead of me in case something unexpected comes up that throws those plans completely off course (but don’t get me wrong, I do plan some things). I think that’s why I don’t ever really go out of my way to plan things in advance if I know for sure that I’ll have just as much fun doing whatever comes up.
I’ll tend to set goals rather than plans because at least if I fail at achieving a goal, I’ll know that the effort was well-spent and that things were learned and taken in from the experience. Planning just sounds to me like a let-down if things fall through.
Anyway, here are a set of goals I’ll be happy to set for the next 10 years (this is half a joke too):
- graduate from some school
- meet an awesome girl that will have a body hot enough to excite me again after being so jaded by the female nude body of just about every single one of my classmates
- convince that girl to go on a few dates with me.
- further convince her to be my girlfriend.
- make my girlfriend my fiance
- marry my fiance
Haha, ok, so that list is a complete joke. Sorta. I would like to get married before 30, and have sex and then pop out some kids (or rather, have my wife pop out some kids), but if it doesn’t happen in the next decade, I’d be totally cool. No expectations, just aspirations. :) I’d be happy either which way I think.
Now, as the clock ticks down to the 23rd, I’d like to just show you all in pictures how I’ve spent the last few days of being 19. I wouldn’t have liked to spent it any other way. So with that, here are my last few days of being 19, in pictures. :)

As most of you know, I went to Boston. Sooo fun!

Tiff and I ate at this place called Fire & Ice…

…where you grab all the food you want for under $10 and they cook it for you right there as you watch. Pretty neat!

I saw “Todai” (WTH IS THAT) with Sandra in K-town.

Sandra and I happen to pass by this new dessert place near me called Pink Berry…

It was so friggin good and so big!

Sandra and I also went to go see the city art atrocity that is the Sky Mirror. What a disappointment!

Pam also came back to the city and I tried to buy her a stuffed animal at FAO but as you can see, the prices were a bit steep! GEEZ!

So instead of buying Pam a stuffed animal, I took her right outside to see the red Apple. Heh.

Then, Pam and I went to check out the Nokia store. Very nice inside, and those interactive LCD’s are fantastic!

For fun, here are some white tennis balls! CRRAAZZZYYY!

Ethan and I went to this place called Petite Abeille on 18th street. It’s a nice little place with pretty good food and a nice seating area. :)
I don’t have pictures, but on this same day, I assisted him in shooting for Laced magazine. Fun fun.

Of course, I also spent some time with the felly. And what’s felly without some food, right?

Oh yeah, and some prayin’ too I guess. JK JK JK! :P

But not enough prayin’ to save my teeth from decay! HAR HAR HAR!

ONEHOUSE 2006. Here’s the M-crew, Mel and Meggie. These two make my life exciting.

Jumpin’ around with Peter Ong was also fun. Why does he live so far?

Peter’s really rocking out here.

After ONEHOUSE 2006, I went to eat with Calvin and Timmy. I don’t see these two enough.

I got to bother Mel that night a bit too since we sat next to each other. One day she’s gonna smack me for the retarded things I say to her.

This was the NASTY beef chow fun I had at XO. It was so gross and dry and un-delicious. -_-

And finally, I hung out with Josh since he came back to the city again. Walked around for a bit and did some really random things. Laughed, caught up, talked about taking trips to places and just chilled. ‘Twas a good way to end being 19.
That’s all for 19! I guess I could include my birthday dinner pics since that happened today, but I’ll save those for a post-20th entry. For now, cheers and be well. It was a great year! It’s been a spectacular 19 years altogether!
