Wednesday night’s live show of Mute Math at B.B. King in NYC was AWESOME. Here’s a small review of the PureVolume + CMJ 2006 showcase from SPIN.
I personally didn’t like any of the bands that played before Mute Math, and it’s not because of prejudice either. They just didn’t make very good music in my opinion. Mute Math, on the other hand, literally blew the other bands that night away. Far away. I can’t wait for them to come to NYC again. I’d probably go see them again. And again. And again.

If you haven’t already, check out my Flickr photo set of Mute Math at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill. Special thanks goes to G for letting me borrow the IS lens. It helped tremendously!

This is big news: Yesterday, Rev. Ted Haggard, the [former] pastor of the New Life mega-church in Colorado Springs and the [former] president of the National Association of Evangelicals has resigned pending investigation into allegations of a gay relationship and affair. :O
TODAY, Haggard has partially admitted to some of these allegations.

The new PUMA concept store in Union Square had a Silversnap Digital Photobooth installed at their grand opening party. The Digital Photobooth is half art installation and half interactive design, where people stand in front of a camera and take photos of themselves. The photos are then immediately broadcast onto large screens in the venue for everybody to see. It’s a pretty neat idea. I’m sad that I missed the grand opening festivities for that store now. Phooey!
Here are the photos from the PUMA concept store grand opening. I know some of the people in this gallery. Cool!

The 7 phases of owning an iPod is quite funny.

Check out this Flickr photoset called Flight Center. Wow, that looks so fun to do! Gonna do this soon!

I don’t know why, but I find the story of Alan Newton, a once-accused-and-convicted criminal who is now free because of DNA evidence, very compelling.

Have you all seen the new front page layout for Yahoo! News? The top portion of the site is really the only thing that’s different. It’s not split into one large main article and then two equally split secondary articles.
By the way, have you all read the news of the bag of letters to God found floating in the ocean? This eerily reminded me of the PostSecret project, except that these never got to where they were supposed to — physically at least.

If you’ve got a weak stomache for bugs, then DO NOT click this link becuase this page has an incredibly hi-res photo of a cicada. I’m talkin’ about incredibly hi-res as in you-can-see-the-bugs-on-this-insect! GROSS.

For you Office fans out there, did you know that Rashida Jones, the actress who plays Karen in The Office, once dated John Krasinski??

The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood — phonetically spelled out to give the right intonation despite using the wrong English words. Pretty creative, I must say. [via]

CNN has an interesting look at the American way of life: then and now (1967 to 2006). [via]

WHAT?! How does he do that?
The comments under the video page are quite funny. :)

This is an awesome video from Front Design of a 3D-like sketching and sculpting utility device. You sketch something in mid-air and then object is then rendered automatically (based on your “drawing”) through a liquid mold. It’s really awesome.

And finally, the Borat movie film is out today! Nice!
