I’m packed and I’m holdin’

Just a random photo of the wall I will be losing when I move to the new apartment. I’m in the process of documenting portions of my room that will not be able to go to the new place with me. :)
The Shins is one of many bands that I’ve come to love over the past year or so simply because they make some really catchy and feel-good tunes, perfect for the road and for studying along to. With that said, their next album, Wincing The Night Away, is set to be released on January 23rd, 2007, but you don’t have to wait until then to give the album a listen because you can listen to the whole album at Peanut’s Playground. So far, I like it a lot more than their last 2 major efforts. Check it out if you’ve got some time.
Snow Patrol’s Eyes Open album reminds me a lot of this past summer. :)
I didn’t know this, but apparently, my love for those darn cats is actually part of a larger internet meme involving “im in ur [noun]…[verb]ing ur [noun]. Who would have thought! Haha, I still think it’s all so funny! [via]
You’ve seen Time Magazine’s Best Inventions of 2006. Now how about Time Magazine’s Gadget of the Year (2006)? At the end you get to vote on what you think deserves the #1 spot for the best gadget of the year. Guess what the winner is at the moment by a huge landslide. Yep, the Nintendo DS Lite. Suck it, PSP. :D
If there’s one thing I love about living in New York City, it’s the fact that I can get some sort of food at any time of night or day. This is good for me since I often get incredibly hungry at retarded hours of the night (in fact, I’m hungry now). Most of the time, I just go for a bagel with some odd topping or a beef patty, but on those rare occasions where I feel like going a bit further, I order a [pizza] pie. Sausages, as a topping if they have, but classic plain is always good. I will almost always go for the corner pizza locations over large franchise, but I must admit that sometimes I do order from places like Domino’s, which is why this article from the NYT about how Domino’s introduced a “Brooklyn-style” pizza to the masses was so interesting to me. Plus, it was one of those rare articles that made me crave food while reading. Totonno’s sounds tasty!
HA! Justin Long, the Mac guy in the recent stream of Apple TV advertisements, has more or less been dropped from future appearances in Apple commercials. Good, I assume, since the advertising strategy here sorta backfired because people tended to gravitate and associate more with the nerdy PC guy persona than towards the pompous prick that is — or was — the Mac guy.
Last night, I was trying very hard to remember the theme song to Mario on the original Gameboy because I thought the tune was one of the better ones to grace us through a Mario game. Here’s the tune [mp3] in case you have no idea which tune I’m referring to. Thanks G for finding it!
Jesus Camp, the same camp that inspired the documentary film of the movie by the same name, is shutting down. Good. That whole film and everything about it just gave me the creeps. :O
OMG! YES! Snowmaking has begun on my favorite local winter sports location, Windham Mountain! If you live in NYC, I totally recommend this mountain since its not very far and the facilities are really nice (AND they give student discount). Check out their interactive mountain map if you want to get a feel for how big the mountain is.
If you want, you can enter your name to win free lift tickets for this coming season.
