I want to kiss you and knock ‘em down like we used to
I went to the Brooklyn Museum yesterday for the first time. It’s such a nice museum. An extra plus because it’s in Brooklyn (home of all things wonderful–ok, I just made that up). I was there to see the Annie Leibovitz exhibit with my class. It’s basically her life catalog of her work, including some of her earliest and personal photos to her most recent endeavors in the medium. Her exhibit was good but I felt like it was just a huge mash of photos just hung up on the walls. I’m sure it had an order to it, but I guess in this case, “order” means “disorder” since you would see photographs for one thing and then all of sudden see photographs for something completely unrelated. Regardless, if you’re a fan of great portraiture, especially of famous people, then you’ll love her exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. The Annie Leibovitz exhibition closes January 21, 2007.

After viewing her section, I came across quite a nice surprise. It turns out that Rob Mueck’s work was being displayed in another part of the museum and I was very excited to see it. If you forget what type of work he does, you can view an online slideshow courtesy of The Washing Post. Basically, he makes incredibly detailed and life-like silicone sculptures of people in either very large scale or very large scale. They are absolutely stunning to see in person because they are sooooooo life-like in their space. You can literally walk up face-to-face with almost any one of them and you STILL might be fooled into thinking that this could be a real person. It’s soooo cool! I totally recommend going to the Brooklyn Museum to see this exhibit before it closes on February 4, 2007.
If you’re interested at all in what I just wrote above, you can check out Annie Leibovitz latest book, A Photographer’s Life: 1990-2005, or take a look at Ron Mueck’s work in Ron Mueck by Robert Rosenblum.
I’m sorry to let you find out this way, but it seems that these animals are better than you. Hehehehehehe.
Happiness seems to fight off the common cold! Weird and AWESOME! Might explain why in the past year I haven’t gotten seriously sick! YAY! Screw jinxing! I AM NEVER SICK! HA HA HA!
BoingBoing is keeping count of a large sum of money currently being lost by Bank of America because of angry customers who will not stand for outrageous mistreatment from their bank. Apparently, Bank of America just goes straight to the hand-cuffing if they even think you are passing a fraudulent check. Yep, that means no questions asked, no reason told, just STRAIGHT TO JAIL FUTHAMUCKA! But if you aren’t convinced that you might be at the wrong bank, consider the fact that Bank of America just recently won the award for most website downtime for a major bank. That, my friend, is NOT an award you want to win. -_-
Ahh! Finally the mystery is solved! Here is the Wikipedia article on 10 codes (or 10 signals) used by Police over their radio transmissions. Now I can actually understand the police broadcast in Need For Speed. Heh, but there really are too many codes to remember, which is probably why some law enforcement officials are doing away with the codes altogether.
This is some sick beatboxing! My gosh! Check this user’s other videos for more. I was quite amazed for some time.
Here’s a list of NYC subway accidents, some with pictures.
Penn Station is being dubbed hangover central by the New York Times becuase of the onslaught of drunk party-goers going home to Long Island after late nights of heavy partying in the city. This is an all too funny article. Makes me want to go to Penn Station right now. As clean as they keep Penn Station, I STILL would never lie completely flat on its floors. Gross. I guess alcohol really does impair one’s judgment.
Yay! I got an invite to join Sneakerplay today. I don’t know what I’m gonna do with the account yet though. It acts and looks a lot like Flickr.

I believe I have posted this photo before. But hey, why not again since I just uploaded it on Flickr? Thanks Jenn for this one.
Have a good day kiddies!
