All the world inside a fragile ball of glass

I realize that the previous update [Life is spinning wonderfully] didn’t quite jump up in some people’s feeds after I updated it further. So, in case you missed some links, feel free to check that post out as well along with this one.

My Flickr account currently holds 1899 photos (most of which are my own). In just a few more views, I will have hit the 15,000 view mark. That is cool. :)
I’m a huge advocate for buying a Flickr Pro account. It’s very useful and very easy to use and manage–not to mention that it’s convenient to have your photos retreivable from wherever you might get an internet connection. A Flickr Pro account is only $24.95/year (about $2 a month, they say). I highly recommend if you don’t already have one. If you have a Flickr account already (pro or not) feel free to make me one of your Flickr contacts. :)

Oh wow. News is coming in that James Kim’s family, 2 daughters and wife, were found and are doing ok. James Kim, however, has not been found yet because he left the family in the car to go find help on foot. I hope he’s found soon. Wow, this really is a feat of survival knowing that the family was buried under snow in their car for 8 days (or more). Jamesandkati.com have more info and photos.

A band called Maldroid recently won YouTube’s Underground music contest (sponsored by Cingular Wireless). Check out the video below.

This band is now making some good strides, no doubt about it. I came to like the song fairly quickly despite the fact that I had only heard it a handful of times. I think it has a lot to do with their overall sound. Plus, their hook is super duper catchy. Yikes.

Two of my favorite women on TV, Tina Fey (30 Rock, Mean Girls) and Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesly on The Office) have a little article in this week’s TV Guide magazine. Dang, and they BOTH won previously for Most Beautiful People of the year? Awesome.

I drank an Arizona Pomegranate Green Tea beverage today. It was good. But keep in mind it is not good for you. So drink sparingly.

How to do the Asian squat — an instructional video.

Erecting a building in Tokyo the shape of Godzilla is probably the best darn idea I’ve ever heard.

The people of Tokyo should construct a giant building shaped like Godzilla. Imagine what it would do to the city’s skyline, and to the tourism industry. People would come from all over to take pictures. His eyes could flash red so airplanes don’t hit him. There could be an observatory in his mouth so people could look out over Tokyo. One of his arms could house a bar, and the other arm a restaurant. They could serve drinks called Mothra Martinis and dishes like Grilled Gamera Steaks, with a side of Mashed Potatoes.

What a fantastic idea, seriously. That would look so awesome! Check out that link for artist renditions of what it might look like in the skyline.

Play The Office solitaire. This is probably what Stanley does all day long…

The Von Dutch store on Spring St in SoHo is now open and did so with very little fanfare. Probably due mostly to the fact that Von Dutch is now as cool as parachute pants. Why did they even bother?
Hmm, the Wikipedia entry on Von Dutch (the person) is citing that he was intolerant of black people and had the “trappings of being a neo-Nazi”. Wow, ok now…

I actually wonder how many people might have passed this heart of leaves and didn’t even bother noticing it for what it was. I like it. It’s the simple things that look the best.

Threadless is having a $10 sale. Buy with this link and you can help support Doobybrain.com. Thanks!

If you want a larger (and in my opinion a much better selection) of clothing and accessories, buy from Karmaloop with this link and continue supporting Doobybrain.com. Thanks!

Oh, I just wanted to correct myself from yesterday’s post about the 8-person tent from Amazon.com. It is not currently being sold at the price I mentioned yet. It is up for voting as a holiday special and will go on sale for $30 on December 7th if all goes well. So keep checking and voting to ensure a chance on scoring this fantastically durable and cheap tent! Then…go camping! :D

I’ve been listening to the new All Star United CD, Love and Radiation, and I must say, I really like it. I haven’t heard anything from them in a very long time so coming across this CD was quite a good refreshment to my ears. Peep the new sounds at their website or on iTunes. And of course, they are on Myspace.

And last but not least, do read this week’s secrets. I wonder if Post Secret will ever cease to amaze and surprise me. Let’s hope it doesn’t.

I think updating Doobybrain.com makes me really really extremely good at random research, not to mention random knowledge as well. Sheesh. I’m a monster on the net.
