I changed this title. It used to be “This will be long”.
Today is Martin Luther King Day. Google is remembering King with a special Google logo.
Ok, not to be insensitive, but for some reason or another, knowing that it was Martin Luther King Day made me think of Black People Love Us!
Nobody knows this but me. But this post in “draft” mode used to consist of a very very very long write-up about something I felt incredibly strongly about. The topic was friendship (and its ever-changing states). I have now deleted that post and replaced it with this post that you’re reading now. In the past week or so, I’ve had my personal definition of ‘friendship’ turned on its head. Maybe if I get the balls to, I’ll refine and re-do the post. But definitely not now.
Whoa, Time Magazine’s website got a facelift. I like it. This new online facelift is supposed to go hand-in-hand with their new distribution days (the print magazine now comes out on Fridays instead of Mondays). Their photo page is much easier on the eyes now too. The Last Days of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is a good photo essay to poke around in.
Apple’s [somewhat] revolutionary iPhone was released only a few days ago and already some are saying that it’s going to be a huge chunk of DRM-infested technology (if you’ve purchased anything on iTunes, you might know what kind of headache that can cause when you try and bring it over to another computer — that you own).
Why does the ICQ website look like it wants to lure me into some online pyramid scheme?? What happened to ICQ? It’s so ugly.
The Found Bin, an online lost-and-found “bin” is never going to take off. Here’s why:
- You have to search for your lost item. In the real world, someone who is desperately trying to find something they’ve lost is going to post flyers and/or posters all over the place, making sure that nobody misses their lost-and-found request. But if you can only see what you want to see, then it’s going to be a lot harder for everybody to be on the lookout for your item.
- By using the site, you basically can kiss the public’s ability to collectively be on the lookout or in the search for your item goodbye.
- You might describe your item a bit differently than the person who has found it (and vice versa). If that’s so, then searching for your found or lost item is pointless.
- You might be using the site. Someone else might not. There’s no solution [yet] to figuring out how to bridge the real world with the virtual world. In this case, that is important because not everybody visits the same websites, let alone this lost and found website.
- Going along with the point above: Nobody knows about this site. Where’s the active advertising? Where’s the brushfire word-of-mouth epidemic this site needs?
- You have to register to post.
- Most people aren’t as generous and/or kind as most of us would like to think. Sorry.
Hmm, apparently, Gap Inc., the parent company of The Gap, Old Navy (who, if you remember, just changed their logo), and Banana Republic (to name a few) might be going on the block. That’s hard for me to believe I guess since I thought that if there was any year that Gap was doing well, it would have been this one because they finally came to their senses with their moderately priced jeans and simple colored tees (and finally got rid of some of those denim jackets — blech). Maybe it’s because they sell nearly $100 1969 jeans right next to their not-that-much-different $30-$40 jeans (for the average Gap consumer, the choice here is easy).
I keep thinking also that their Product (RED) clothing line is so good but so expensive. Yeah, I know it’s for charity, but if they made that stuff at regular prices (and of course, in different colors other than red), I bet people would just snatch it up. But hey, what do I know about business anyway?
HAHAHAHA. The Consumerist makes my life easy by letting me search for Amazon.com deals up to 90% off. So easy! I don’t know why, this just makes me laugh.
Sometimes, the blurry photos are the best photos.
The rules are simple for Running From Camera: set your camera to 2-second timer and see how far you can run away from it before it snaps your ugly behind in motion. :) Enjoy!
The refrigerator in our apartment is a real eyesore. I think we should get a Big Chill retro fridge.

If the Arne Jacobsen egg chair wasn’t $1500, I might have considered buying one for my room. Heck, since I’m clearly soooooo baller, I might as well buy the Ball Chair for $1799. -_-
I started using Winamp again (but not the latest one. I’m using version 2.95. You can get it from oldversion.com). For the last time, iTunes has deleted my playlists and library!!! ARGH! Why is the Windows version of iTunes such crap?!
Life update later on tonight. :) Stay tuned…
