I’m feeling yummy head to toe
Maybe I should be reading Everything Bad Is Good For You by Steven Johnson. I’ll finish Blink though, even though it’s turning out to not be as good as I had expected.
Wow, I can’t believe the Wikimedia Foundation, owners of Wikipedia, have actually managed to raise over $1 million for their non-profit foundation. That’s some serious contributions. But they deserve it. Wikipedia is fantastic!
I think John Krasinksi is wearing an awesome lapel pin here. It’s a puzzle piece!
When did the Wii website actually have content?!
Marco Tempest goes to Japan!…and does more tricks.
This Honda Civic commercial uses Huddle Formation by The Go! Team as its music. Anything with Huddle Formation is going to be good. More info on the “Freedom” commercial here.
Heck, you could probably make a CD with 12 tracks, all of which are Huddle Formation, and I’d probably tell you that it’s the best CD I’ve ever heard!
And…just because, here is the One Tree Hill clip where I first heard Huddle Formation. Whee! This song makes me dance happy!!
I like the new colorful iPod commercials. They are a lot better than the ones with the splattered paint. The original ones with only the dancing silhouette on the solid color background are still good ones though. Apparently, Apple’s iPod advertising is so awesome that somebody felt that it should get its own Wikipedia page.
OH WOW HA HA HA!! I’m having a ball just playing with the Firefox extension, Tab Effect. It makes your tab switching in Firefox a lot more interesting by throwing it on a visual cube. I imagine that this would run incredibly sluggish on older computers or computers without sufficient video memory, so beware. But if you can run it, then try it, because it’s just fun to look at. :) More here.
Super.
Cuban leader Fidel Castro’s health might or might not be failing.
Whee! Cars won a Golden Globe last night for Best Animated Feature Film! Martin Scorsese also won for Best Director in The Departed (great movie by the way). Of course, Grey’s Anatomy was going to take the Best Television Series award from the beginning. But I can’t believe that Dreamgirls won all those awards. I haven’t seen the movie, but I have such a hard time believing that it deserves all those awards. Maybe it’s just because Beyonce is in it and I can’t seem to stand the way she sings anymore.
The full list of Golden Globe winners can be found on the HFPA website. And if you want a one-stop place to see all of the winners since 1944, then go no further than Wikipedia.
Wikiseek is a unique new search engine that only gathers results from within Wikipedia articles and it’s outgoing links. As you can imagine, this makes its search results much more limited but at the same time also very, very accurate and to-the-point.
The contents of Wikiseek are restricted to Wikipedia pages and only those sites which are referenced within Wikipedia, making it an authoritative source of information less subject to spam and SEO schemes.
I tried a few search queries and everything looks pretty good so far. The results list is no different than your typical search engine results list so there won’t be any learning curve. I like how category suggestions pop up as you type in a search query. [via]
Heh, this commercial for Amp’d Mobile is funny.
I’ve been wanting to get a laptop lately. Sometimes I just feel like doing work away from my desk here at the apartment. Or maybe I just like the idea of going to a cafe and just sitting there and doing nothing. Maybe play a game on it or something. Maybe do some work, y’know? Anyway, I’ve been looking at Apple’s laptops, but unfortunately for them, they do not make a black 15″ MacBook Pro, so…no business from me. They only make the 15″ MacBook Pro in that incredibly tacky stainless steel (stainless steel is soooo over). Plus, no matter how much I want a MacBook Pro, I always caution myself because I really don’t want to be forced to buy Apple products and/or services for the rest of my life. I need choice, and Apple barely gives me a choice.
Just random: I think Apple should make a regular iPod in the same blazing red color as their Product (RED) iPod nano.
Ok, so I lied about posting the life update. And the Michigan thing. There’s a lot to say about Michigan. But not now. Maybe later. Maybe.
