YOU DON’T KNOW JACK!
I think one of my favorite things to do is watch movies. Sometimes if I have nothing to do, I’ll just pop in a DVD and watch it, even if I’m by myself. I could really care less. I think I like escaping into movies and just experiencing what it’d be like to be in ridiculous situations with ridiculous people. Movies make me laugh (but they certainly don’t make me cry) and movies make me think. I like stupid movies, smart movies, movies with plot twists, movies with surprises, movies with good looking people, movies about history, movies about movies, movies about impossible scenarios, movies that inform me, and movies that reinforce me. I could seriously go on and on. Anyway, I’ve been watching a lot of movies lately, mainly to deter myself from doing any actual school work, but also because I enjoy them (wait, I think I said that already). Haha.
What have I seen in the minimal amount of days since I last reviewed those 14 movies? Well, I saw Eragon, Happy Feet, and a BBC docu-drama for TV called End Day.
Here are my quick thoughts on these three and then you can go to my movie reviews archive to read more (up at the top).
- Eragon [rating:1.5]: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha………..
- Happy Feet [rating:4]: Surprisingly good! As much as I wanted to not see it, I couldn’t help but give in to my curiosities as people around me kept saying the movie was utterly fantastic. I totally agree. It was definitely an entertaining flick.
- End Day [rating:2]: Ehh, kinda crudely produced, but whatever. It was free to watch on Google Video.
I think I might see some more movies today, but I don’t know yet. I have to talk to Esther about that to see if she’s awake enough or even wanting to go in this frigid weather. :O
I don’t know how long this is going to last, but Arthur linked me to a screenshot of his desktop running Windows Vista with a Doobybrain.com feed on his sidebar (you kinda have to look closely). Go Arthur. I want Vista. :(
I’m a nerd. :(((
You can now play You Don’t Know Jack again online for free! Previously, they started putting out daily Dis or Dat episodes that were pretty good, but nothing can really beat You Don’t Know Jack online. Wow, awesome. This totally brings me back to my early internet days where I had nothing to do but go on Scour and play You Don’t Know Jack and Acrophobia. Anyway, here’s the first episode of You Don’t Know Jack (more to come hopefully!). And here are all the Dis or Dat episodes for you to play! Wheee!
Uh oh! Researchers say that only people who avoid drinking coffee for a while will get a buzz from it when they drink it. So really, those of us who NEED to drink at least a cup in the morning are really just addicted and curbing our daily withdrawal symptoms. Ha, nice. But hey, nobody’s going to tell me how to drink my coffee. Who says these people are right, right?
Jack Guy is a photographer I had to look up at work. His portfolio of celebrity portraits is quite good. Some eye candy for you if your eyes are bored outta their sockets.

On the topic of photography, I just picked a photographer to do a report on for this class I take called Photo Topics. It’s the class I’ve sorta dreaded going to all semester because the professor is out of his mind sometimes (ask me why I think so personally, please). Anyway, the photographer I chose is Andreas Gefeller, who just happened to be covered by Cool Hunting this morning. I chose Gefeller because of his similarity to Andreas Gursky whose work I really just love. Unfortunately, I couldn’t choose Gursky because he’s too “mainstream”, so when I came across Gefeller’s work, I was just overflowing with happiness. Yes, overflowing.
I’m going to see his photographs at Hasted Hunt Gallery this coming week, so if anybody might want to come, just let me know. For once, this is a gallery I want to go to, instead of being forced to by school. :)
If you’re too lazy to attend the gallery or view his photos online (HOW LAZY ARE YOU, REALLY?!) then you can also check out a book of his called Supervisions.
It’s funny, I guess, but seriously, who the hell is going to want a computer mouse that looks like an omelette?
Hey, this is pretty neat. The MTA doesn’t mind anymore if you stay aboard the 6 train and ride through the loop to see the old City Hall subway station (the one with the pretty tiles and nice ceilings). Not much of a view if you’re in the train car, but hey, at least it’s safer and somewhat better than jumping the tracks and sneaking in!
Game: Pepsi wants to know how fast you can type. They probably just want you to drink more Pepsi.
OH MY GOSH. I don’t have my paper done at all, and I need to go to class. I spent the last half hour updating instead. I am such an idiot. -_-
OH WELL! HELLO! :D
