Concerts, shows, and music, OH MY

_MG_4362

Live Nation sends me these random emails every once in a while telling me about local shows that I might be interested in. Most of the time however, the emails are just a waste of my time because I almost never find any of the artists interesting enough to actually go see. Sure, I guess the emails are a good way to be reminded of some shows just in case I ever do want to just go out on a limb and see a show. But for the most part, the emails are just mostly what I call “readable spam“.

So Live Nation highlighted some upcoming shows from Keane, The Arctic Monkeys, Jars of Clay, Damien Rice, Hellogoodbye, and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus…among others, but I’m really not interested at all honestly.

I’m into a lot of different kinds of music, but unfortunately I probably would never go and see the bands above unless I was really talked into doing it or if my girlfriend asked me to go — which, if she did, she wouldn’t be my girlfriend because I would sure as hell never date someone who’s crazy enough to go see Jars of Clay in concert. Sure, their music is great, but I don’t think I’d spend the money to go see them.

Here are some people I’d love to go see:

i don’t get the big deal about lily allen. i like her songs, but whenever i’ve seen her perform on tv (SNL, late night, etc.), she’s SO boring. she doesn’t seem very engaging on stage.

No Doubt would be AWESOME to see.. they’re supposedly planning a new album…

Actually, you’re right. I think I just really like her songs and her humor. :)

herman, coldplay live is overrated…especially now that chris martin’s head is bigger than the stage. but seriously, the show itself is OK (yes, only OK), but the cheesy people (who only know the hits) around you will definitely drive you up the wall.
