This is going to be a cliff hanger

Hello! Forgive the slow updates lately. There’s been people at my house fixing things (adding outlets, fixing light switches, etc.) and I haven’t been able to sit down and do anything computer-related because I have to watch them. Anyway, I guess another part of the reason is because I’ve been out doing stuff…you know, it being my Spring break and all. :) So far, it’s been lots of fun.

Anyway, the dust that’s been accumulating in my room due to the construction has really taken a toll on my keyboard and mouse combo. I think I’m seriously due for a new keyboard and mouse setup. I’m eyeing anything fairly recent from Microsoft and Logitech. I wish those two companies would just fuse together because I really like Microsoft mice and I really like Logitech keyboards. I mean, I could always buy them separately, but I’m all about having matching keyboard and mouse combos. Duh!

Strongbad and The Cheat go to the drivethru. All for randomness’ sake.

Go ahead, make an awesome pattern.

Earth Album is a neat Flickr and Google Maps mashup. I don’t really know how else to explain what it does except that it shows pictures from Flickr in a way that integrates with Google Maps. Think of it as a virtual traveling photo album…of pictures that most likely aren’t yours.
There’s a YouTube version too, but that’s not as interesting.

Cool.

What the heck? I didn’t know CDs blow up if you spin them too quickly. Weird!

Indexed does this thing with attitude and love. For the most part, it’s hitting it right on the head.

Oh, this is awesome! One To One is a book completely full of ticket stubs from all over! It’s clearly a coffee-table book, but it’s still very cool. This reminds me of a receipt book project I did last year for my final semester review. If you’re ever over, ask me to see it. It’s one of the more crazier things I’ve ever done and compiled.

An international collection of over 1,600 various ticket stubs covering the past two decades. These tickets come from every imaginable source: tickets from airplanes, trains, ferries buses, the metro, cloakrooms, and parking lots, bank and taxi receipts, inspection labels, admission tickets for museums, theatres, cinemas, circuses, operas, zoos, concerts, ballets, even reptile shows. Organized non-chronologically and non-linearly, the book can be read according to individual preferences. The collection reprints the tickets at actual-size, one-to-one, organized by colors. Backe guides us through the variety of typefaces, languages, formats, styles, backgrounds, brand identities, illustrations, and other graphic elements of this sweeping collection. Fascinatingly small, the ticket has a unique and intriguing format that demands efficiency and utility, and making the modest ticket a product of high design and ingenuity.

The book is going to set me back $38 if I get it, but hey, what’s $38 to me, right? HAR HAR. I WANT! [via]

Flickr has implemented a system of content filters so people won’t accidentally come across something they might not want to see. If you aren’t a Flickr user, WHY NOT?! And if you are a Flickr user and are not ‘Pro’, WHY NOT?!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This shirt could probably look better.

Ahh, here are two great ads about product strength. One is from Reynold’s and the other from Kleenex. Clever clever!

Whoa, this is fantastic! Elastic Lists is a new way to browse dynamic information and statistics. Here, you can see it in action in terms of Nobel Prize winners. Every time you change the filter, the lists restructure and resize to accommodate your criteria. It’s pretty neat I think. Imagine putting this along with census information.

I’ve got something else in the works. Maybe you’ve seen it, maybe you haven’t. In any case, it’s literally right in front of your eyes.

Oh, and by the way…PEOPLE, PLEASE CHEER UP AND CHIN-UP A BIT! Geez! I go online and it’s like I’m reading a tragedy in away messages. What’s the deal? Surely your life couldn’t be as bad as some other people’s.

Where the heck is my other post? I think it’s lost! To be continued…
