Google Talk Gadget

Ok, Google Talk (the application) is nothing new. Neither is Google Chat (the chatting feature inside of Gmail). So when I first saw Google Talk Gadget being launched I thought, “Ehh, nothing new here.”

Man, I was wrong!

I’m at work now and I’m signed online through the new Google Talk Gadget and so far it’s been wonderful! Simon just sent me a link to a YouTube video and to my surprise, the video plays right inside the chat window in a very clean form. Also, Flickr slideshows play inside the chat window too!! How cool!

Also, the slight “sliding” effect between the chats and the contacts list is neat. And dang, does it load fast!

I’m probably never going to chat from within Gmail ever again! Yay!
