“New” New York Times website features

Hmm! It looks like the New York Times website has implemented some minor site changes that make its news articles easier to share and easier to link to.
Specifically, I’m talking about the new “share” feature in each article. The share feature allows you to share the NYT article through some major outlets, like Facebook, Newsvine, and Digg. This will no doubt give a boost to some of the New York Times’ online articles since a lot of people use those three websites.
Also, they have added a permalink link underneath those sharing options. This now means that I no longer have to use the New York Times permalink generator by Reddit (although it does work very well). The one flaw that the Reddit permalink generator had was that you had to wait a bit to get a permalink if the article was very new. I guess now that the New York Times is doing it’s own permalink structure that waiting won’t really be a problem or an issue anymore.
I did notice however that the Reddit NYT permalink generator generates a different kind of URL than the one given by the New York Times. I don’t really know if either is better than the other, but it’s just weird that there are two ways of linking permanently to a NYT article.
