Happy music for happy times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t know what it is but lately I’ve gone on a “new music” binge again. The following six albums above are recommended. From left to right, top row then bottom row, the albums are:

  • Boys Like Girls – (Self Titled) – Somewhere in between Relient K power-pop punk and Angels & Airwaves rock.
  • The Feeling – Twelve Stops and Home – Upbeat with a beat!
  • Rachael Yamagata – Happenstance – This one really grew on me after a while.
  • Teddybears – Soft Machine – Good NYC walking music, in my opinion.
  • The Fratellis – Costello Music – This is just a fun album to listen to. Makes me want to dance. :)
  • Shiny Toy Guns – We Are Pilots – I first heard of them last year when they were supposed to tour with Mute Math (they didn’t end up doing so). I don’t know why I didn’t catch on to them sooner. They’re sorta like The Killers and The Sounds if they fused together.

These artists are all on iTunes, so if you want to check them out, you can preview their stuff there. Most of the artists above have Myspace pages or PureVolume pages too, so that’s another way you can check out their music.

On a related note, I’ll be seeing Boys Like Girls this Saturday with Hellogoodbye and Ciara (maybe some others). Should be fun. If the concert sucks, at least I’ll be able to share the sucky experience with good friends. :)
It looks like this weekend’s gonna be good, yet again. Whee!

Shiny Toy Guns did in fact open for Mute Math during September – November of 2006, over 30 shows, what makes you say they didn’t ?

i LOVE rachael. if i could have a singing voice other than mine, i would probably choose hers. she’s supposed to come out with a new album this year. and she co-wrote a song on mandy moore’s new album too.

Oh, i meant that they didn’t end up opening on the specific NYC show that I went to. :) I hear they DID in fact open up for the other shows on the tour though. So I guess we’re both half-right. :)
