OH MY GOD! The Abandoned is one of the freakiest movies I’ve ever seen. It gave me goosebumps the whole way through. It didn’t get very good reviews because the movie itself isn’t all that great (story is kinda weird-ish). But in terms of fright factor and whatnot, the movie certainly delivers. It was just so scary and intense at some points. Eeek!

Me, Flo, and Melanie with Martin Johnson of Boys Like Girls

I went to St. Johns’ Spring concert series on Saturday to see Ciara, Boys Like Girls, and Hellogoodbye with Melanie and Florence. As far as concerts go, it seemed pretty make-shift, especially the set. But I guess you can’t do much when it’s being held in a school gym. Regardless, live music is always better than recorded music, so I didn’t mind the setting at all (except for the fact that I wish there were a bit more people in the crowd — it seemed a bit sparse). I just wanted to listen to music. :)

Ciara’s performance was so weird. I’ll just…leave it at that. I couldn’t tell when the heck she was going to end because she kept doing all this other random stuff out of nowhere. I’ll say though, that woman can dance (and she can dance the same damn thing over and over again). I also thought it was odd when she started this “jam session” with her on-stage DJ and then just started doing other artists’ songs. I was like “Wait, isn’t this a Ciara concert?”

Boys Like Girls came on after Ciara (but not before a random St Johns skit team did some weird weird weird weird weird weird weird weird weird weird weird weird weird weird weird weird dance/song/skit thing.

Anyway, Boys Like Girls is pretty decent live. The drummer’s drumset is incredibly good looking. Haha. HIS DRUMSET. Not him. I really couldn’t catch what company made his drumset, but if I find out, I’ll link it later. It just looked really nice. You can see the particular drumset that I’m talking about in their music video below.

Hellogoodbye came on next. Nothing much to say about the band. I was only half listening because through most of Hellogoodbye’s set, we were all trying to say hi to the lead singer of Boys Like Girls at the merchandise table. Oh well! Hahaha!

It was a fun night (and morning too since Flo and I just stayed up reading her dad’s emails and watching YouTube videos while Melanie passed out like no other). Hehe.

New news: FYI, 13yo skool grl is nu US txt mssg chmpN. If you don’t know Morgan Pozgar, that’s ok. Just know that she’s the fastest texter in the US.

So dedicated is she to the art of the text message that Tirosh apparently unwittingly uses abbreviations such as BTW (by the way), TTYL (talk to you later) and LOL (laughing out loud) in her normal speech.

Oh yeah, she also won $25,000 because she was so good at texting. NOT FAIR!

Cool! I saw an ad for this on the street the other day. Apparently, NYC has an official store that sells neat things like this Parks tee, this FDNY patch cap, and this Made in NY tee.
