I first posted this particular Garfield comic a little over a week ago. It turns out that there is more significance to this comic than I initially noticed. Read the excerpt below:

On Sunday July 1st of 2007, an odd Garfield comic was printed. The logo shows Garfield’s eyes being inked with a brush, and the word “VALETTE” is hidden in the stars above the house in the last panel. Valette Hildebrand has been the inker for Garfield for several years, but whether this strip was a tribute to her for all her work or whether she has died and the strip is a memorial to her is not known.

I found out about that peculiar little bit of trivia from the Garfield Wikipedia page.

There’s this weird internet meme of taking certain Garfield comic strips and stripping them of Garfield’s words/thought bubbles. Supposedly, if you do this, the comic becomes a bit funnier at times and definitely more spaced-out in general (see: “surrealist”). Check out the examples in that previous link.

This one is so funny!

When I get onto RMIT wireless, I’ll read the rest of them in that forum thread. :P

From this summer: “You only live once.” Thanks Flo for showing me this one!

I absolutely love this Calvin and Hobbes graphic, taken from the official The Complete Calvin and Hobbes page.

Go to the official Calvin and Hobbes comic webpage at Go Comics.

I would love to have this hanging in my room. It features the first and last comic strips from Calvin and Hobbes, framed in either metal or wood for $172.95. But I won’t buy it now, since I’m in Australia.
