A whole lot of steam in NYC

Wow. That’s a whole lot of steam!
On Wednesday afternoon in NYC, a steam pipe exploded underground around the Grand Central area. It was huge, spewing debris into the air at least 27 stories high according to some eye-witness accounts!!
WCBS-TV has a slideshow of some of the photos from the explosion site. They look absolutely terrifying and cool all at the same time. Terrifying, mostly because it conjures up memories of a few years back, and cool, because you would think that this stuff only happens in movies (and here it is happening in real life).
Of course, Gothamist is covering the story as events and news unfold. Also, it is being covered by NY1 and 1010 WINS.
