The New School recently made some upgrades to their IT infrastructure and now they require you to change your password every 180 days. I understand that this is for security purposes, but I really think this rule sucks. I can’t understand why they force you to change your password every 180 days if the one you already had was great to begin with.
Anyway, since I’m an excellent email person, I decided to ask a few questions to The New School Help Desk.

The funny thing about this is that the password change was supposed to start yesterday, August 14, 2007. But so far, I haven’t changed my password and I can still check my email (through Gmail). Doesn’t seem like their notification system is working out too well.
Maybe I’ll email Bob Kerrey next to see if anything can be done about this.
