Consumer Reports crash test videos

I have this weird fascination with car crashes. I don’t like seeing people get hurt or anything and I wouldn’t ever wish a car crash on myself or anybody else, but there’s just something very exciting about seeing a car crash in person. I remember living on 6th Avenue in NYC and going outside or looking out my window every single time I heard a loud crash on the street. Maybe I just like picking out the “idiot” in the crash situation. Who knows.

In any case, Consumer Reports has a great website for watching car crash tests. I’ll admit that it’s not quite the same as seeing two (or more) cars crash into each other in real life, but seeing a car get totally mangled in slow-motion is still pretty good.

You can pick your make and model and year (range) on the Consumer Reports website to see how your car or somebody else’s car rates. The above image is of the Honda Pilot as it gets crashed front-first into a wall. It was rated “good” in both frontal offset and side impact crash tests. Go Honda. :)
