For some reason, my standard outlet charger for my Nintendo DS Lite did not work when I came here to Australia. Even when it was plugged in to an outlet converter (from US to Australia outlets) the charger would not charge my DS Lite.
Because of the DS Lite’s incredible long-lasting battery, I did not find this out until about a month into my stay here in Australia since before that I had no need to charge it. It was tragic and sad when I realized that my DS Lite charger would not charge my DS Lite. How was I going to kill time???
So I did some research and concluded that it was not worth the money for me to buy an Australian outlet replacement charger for my DS — it was just too expensive and it was BIG (plus, it was ugly too). The stores here in Australia do not sell the Nintendo-brand charger, so I didn’t feel 100% comfortable spending money on a generic brand.
I did a search on eBay and found that for much much much much less, I could buy a neat USB charger for less than $5 USD. I thought about this for a second and realized that a USB charger would be GREAT considering that I’m almost always next to a computer and just about every computer has a USB slot. This also meant that if I were to ever go to another country again, I wouldn’t have to worry about annoying outlet converters since USB is standard in every country.
One cable, a gazillion different places. That’s what this USB charger was going to give me.
So I went ahead and bought it. It arrived today and it works like a charm! No hassle at all. Just plug it in and my DS Lite is now comfortably charging on my desk. It’s so awesome. If you own a Nintendo DS Lite, I totally recommend buying one on eBay. There are a billion listings for this same item on eBay so you won’t ever have to worry about it going up in price. Good luck and enjoy! I know I am! :D

I got my Nintendo Dsi in black, but now I regret taking the black one.
