I’m not due for another cell phone for at least another 10 months or so, but I can say for certain that if I were to get one now it would definitely be this Samsung U700 (also, “ULTRA Edition II” or “ULTRA Edition 12.1″). There’s absolutely nothing wrong with my current cell phone, the Samsung T629, but I know that in a couple of months or so that thing is going to look so beat up that it’ll be time for a new one. And in that case, I’ll opt in for this Samsung U700.

Lately, I haven’t been able to turn my head any which direction in Melbourne without seeing some kind of ad for this phone. I haven’t seen it in person yet, but just from the advertisements I think I love it already. And judging from these photos, I know I love it.

I’m not sure if it’s out in the US (though I know it works on the networks in the US). The Samsung U700 is only 86g in weight, has a 3.2MP camera, supports 3G, a microSD slot for memory expansion, polyphonic and MP3 ringtone capability, bluetooth, and a whole mess of “standard” features you’d find on most other cell phones, all in a slim 12.1mm package. THAT IS AWESOME!

Are you wondering where I got such a large photo of the phone? It’s from the UK Samsung Mobile website. You can go and grab a couple of more hi-res shots of the phone there if you want. Just clean up the drool when you’re done looking at the photos, ok?
