Twinkies and “KANG”aroos!
One of the first things I did when I moved in to my apartment here in Melbourne was unpack. In the midst of my unpacking, I pulled out Meggie’s hand-stitched kangaroo and put it on my desk. Meggie’s kangaroo was the first thing I adorned my room with in order to make it “mine”.
With that said, for over a month now, Meggie’s kangaroo has been sitting pretty much alone on my shelf (with the exception of things here and there that find themselves there, like keys, sunglasses, and money). I’m sure it’s been a lonely month for the kangaroo, but I’m sure that if that kangaroo wasn’t there every single day, I’d have a much harder time adjusting to life here in the apartment. I love that kangaroo. It reminds me of home and it reminds me of Meggie.
So the other day, I get a letter in my mailbox from the Australian Post saying that I had a package. I thought it was going to be the two robots I ordered earlier last month. I walked over to the Post and picked up the package that was waiting for me, only to find out that it was from home and it was from Meggie! I was totally not expecting it! Here’s what she sent…
I’m assuming that she got the idea to send me these items based on the last monthly email I sent out which listed some of the things I missed about home (Twinkies was one of them). It’s awesome. Thanks Meggie!!!
