Try content-aware image resizing for yourself!

Remember that video I posted about content-aware image resizing?
Well, thanks to the generosity of the creators of that technique, you can now try it for yourself without installing any program whatsoever! They have somehow ported the technique online and allowed you to try it on basically any photo of your choosing!
I know it’s not the greatest example, but inside you can see how content-aware image resizing has been applied to the image above.

Isn’t that friggin awesome?! Of course, you’ll find some kinks here and there with certain images, but for the most part, this technique works! It’s impressive. You have to give it a spin.
Note: The easiest way to try this out is to use the static images of Flickr photos. Unfortunately, Flickr has a “spaceball” image over every photo by default. But if you use Firefox and have Greasemonkey installed, you can automatically get past that by installing the Flickr Remove Spaceball script. After you’ve installed the script, you can now right click on any Flickr image and “View Image” and it’ll bring you directly to the static image URL.
Go ahead. Do it. You know you want to. :)
