Prickie buttons look good and they’re cheap. They are all designed and created by artists, so for the most part, you’ll get high quality artwork on each pin.

If you order more than 6, you get free shipping (minimum order of 3 is required — each pin is $2.99 USD).

Block Posters – the wallpaper alternative

Block Posters offers a simple and quick way for you to enlarge your photos so that you can print them out and make posters out of them.

It’s very similar to my long-standing favorite Rasterbator, except that Block Posters keeps your image in fairly good shape by not converting it to a halftone image.

Looks like its time to plaster Melbourne…

Graffiti for the blind

A niche graffiti art movement is brewing out of Portland, Oregon and it involves stickers and braille.

Began in August 2007, Braille Graffiti is set on a mission to bring graffiti to the masses — that is, to those who can’t experience it by sight. Since graffiti is primarily been a visual medium, this this leaves a percentage of the population unable to experience graffiti because they cannot see. Braille Graffiti hopes to remedy this problem. NuVinci gear hub

It’s all about spheres, not gears.

Fallbrook Technologies brings us a new development in drivetrain research. It is called the NuVinci hub and it is basically everything in a mechanical gear box — without the gears!

It’s a revolution in drivetrain technology. A new way of transmitting mechanical power based on spheres instead of gears. The NuVinci continuously variable planetary (CVP) technology, an innovative new continuously variable transmission (CVT), is not only helping vehicle designers and component manufacturers improve performance, ride quality and capabilities in existing products. It’s driving change and new designs never before thought possible.

There’s a lot to explain, so I’ll just let the demonstration video speak for itself.

Here’s a real-life demo of the NuVinci gear hub.

One of the great things about this new technology is its practical uses. It can be put into just about any gear and motor-based machine including, but not limited to, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, tractors, lawn mowers, etc. This one little device has the potential to change the way all mechanical devices are built! Exciting! More videos after the jump

miss-sc-geography-quiz.jpg

Miss South Carolina Teen USA, Lauren Caitlin Upton, is totally milking her way to fame.

How? By partnering up with People Magazine to create this video geography quiz! Way to go! I want more of Miss South Carolina Teen USA because she is funny. I think she alone has managed to fit 3 month’s worth of internet entertainment into one week’s time. I love her for it!

In my opinion, all of the questions in the geography quiz are harder [and more specific] than the one she originally became famous for answering (or not answering).

She’s clearly prepped and ready to go on this geography quiz. It’s a shame she wasn’t just as prepared during the recent Miss Teen USA pageant.
