The New York Times has a great front page image map of their headlines on September 12, 2001, the day after the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
The image map has clickable links to the actual online articles that were featured on that day. Reading them is sort of like taking a time machine back in time. And those photos are still so amazing and sad all at once.
One of things I noticed was the weather corner at the top right of the front page. Tuesday, September 11, 2001 started off so beautifully…
The dedicated September 11 Times Topics page has a wealth of information and explanatory graphics on the events of that day, in case you want to brush up on some history.
If you plan on attending some of ceremonies today to mark the date, then here’s a pretty good list of them.
NOTE: Times Select account required to view some of the front page articles. Just sign up with a proper .edu email address. It’s free.
I included the full image of The New York Times front page for September 12, 2001 inside.
