Newspaper front pages at the Newseum

The Newseum, a 250,000-square-foot museum of news and hands-on exhibits spanning 5 centuries, has a portion of their website dedicated to archiving digital versions of newspaper front pages.

Previously, if I wanted to get a newspaper front page quickly, I used onlinenewspapers.com, but lately that site has added pop-up ads which are extremely annoying, so I’m happy to move on to the newseum’s collection.

The New York Times front page on September 12, 2001 is in their archive of newspaper front pages from September 12, 2001.

Check out their list of important archive dates here. And don’t forget to see if your local newspaper’s front page is listed here. [via]

I should take a trip down to Washington, D.C. to visit the Newseum. It sounds like a place I’d enjoy.
