Smart car in the USA

Are you ready to start seeing the itsy-bitsy Smart car on America’s streets? You better be, because it’s arriving officially the first quarter of 2008.

If you buy one though, you might as well sign over your life now. The car doesn’t stand up too well in high-speed collisions. See the video below.

Ahh, nothing like sacrificing safety for a few [small] good looks. This car is really cool, but honestly, I think it looks really ugly. It reminds me of an even more flattened Peugeot. Yuck.

But really, the only thing that would make me buy one is the cheap sticker price and fuel mileage. That’s about it.

    The U.S. government will test the smart car after it arrives on the market. Builders predict it will receive four out of five stars in American crash tests. European models recently received four out of five stars in Euro New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) tests.
