The face of the new US $5 bill

Like the $100, $50, $20, and $10 bill before it, the United States $5 Note will soon sport some more funky colors than just “green-ish”.
“We wanted this redesigned bill to scream, ‘I am a five. I am a five,”‘ Larry Felix, director of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing said in an interview with The Associated Press. “We wanted to eliminate any similarity or confusion on the part of the public between the $5 bill and the $100 bill.”
Apparently, counterfeiters were bleaching the $5 notes and changing them into $100 bills. The new security features on the $5 bill should solve this problem to some extent (or maybe not solve, but make it that much harder to counterfeit).
You can play with an interactive $5 US Note or just read about some of the new features in the $5 bill.
Anyway, brush up on the image above now, because the new $5 US Notes will begin circulation in early 2008!
