NYC taxicabs roll on chrome

In case you weren’t paying attention, New York City taxicabs just recently got a makeover. The new taxicab logo and checkered sticker supposedly brings the NYC taxicab back to its roots when all cabs were checkered.
Anyway, did you notice anything weird about the collection of images above? Maybe with the top right image of the Ford Escape vehicle? Doesn’t it look like the vehicle is tricked out with huge chrome rims?! The NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) must think that’s how city cabs roll.
