First things first, did you manage to catch me dancing the other day?
This is what Connie had to say:
“Sometimes I just wonder to myself…like, do you just wake up one morning and think…I’m gonna just dance and film myself…?”
Why, yes, that is actually what happened. No joke!
New secrets (and a video too!).

NO WAY! Topps Meat Company, one of the bigger meat packaging companies, closed its doors and ceased operation after being sued following the 2nd largest recall of contaminated beef in the US. Eeks! [pdf]
Topps Meat Company Ends Operations After 67 Years
Elizabeth, New Jersey, October 5, 2007 – Topps Meat Company LLC announced today
that because of the economic impact of the second-largest beef recall in U.S. history
involving more than 21.7 million pounds of ground beef products, it is forced to close its
Elizabeth plant and go out of business effective today.“This is tragic for all concerned,†said Anthony D’Urso, Chief Operating Officer. “In one
week we have gone from the largest U.S. manufacturer of frozen hamburgers to a
company that cannot overcome the economic reality of a recall this large. We sincerely
regret the impact this will have on our employees, our customers and suppliers, and the
community. Most of all, we regret that our products have been linked by public health
agencies to recently reported illnesses. We hope and pray for the full recovery of those
individuals.â€A small number of the 87 employees will remain at the Elizabeth plant for an indefinite
time to assist the USDA in its ongoing investigation and to handle administrative matters,
including ensuring the effectiveness of the recall.“We want to thank our loyal employees and customers who have supported us throughout
the 67 years in which Topps Meat has been in business,†D’Urso said. “Topps has always
prided itself on providing the utmost quality and safety and never had a recall in our
history until now. This has been a shocking and sobering experience for everyone.â€

Halloween is coming up. Are pumpkins scarce where you are? Why not build one out of Lego pieces instead?

Well how about that for some interesting glassware? Price: $35.80 for a set of 4!
I want this stainless steel Starbucks desktop mug. Price: $18.95.

So yeah, I ordered one because it was just too cheap not to. I’m excited to get it in! Click on the image above to see a pretty huge version of the Zune in black.
For those who may have missed it (AGAIN?!), the 30GB black Zune is on its own very special Woot page for $99. Buy it now, upgrade it with the new firmware when it comes out in November, and then enjoy a brand new spanking new Zune for a fraction of the price!

Business Week has compiled a list of the world’s best design schools (of which Parsons made the list — duh).
I’m actually very excited for my Zune (1st generation) to come in. In the meantime, I’ve been looking up information on the new Zune (2nd generation) and have found out that the term “squircle”, which is used to describe the new Zune’s half-circle-half-square center button, is actually a real term. Zunescene.com has a small list of reasons on their front page as to why the new Zune may be using the squircle. One of the reasons: “Too many people confuse the current round button with an iPod click wheel. Watch the mp3 booth next time you are at Best Buy and see what we mean.” I agree, I think it’s a good move to have changed it to the squircle.
Wee Ninja stickers from Shawnimals are only $1 for a pack.
I may be the last person on Earth who uses Woot and didn’t know that there was a shirt woot.
This is an actual news story. Read an excerpt below:
A Japanese bureaucrat has been reprimanded for shirking his duties to make hundreds of Wikipedia contributions about toy robots, officials said Friday.
ADVERTISEMENTThe agriculture ministry said the bureaucrat, whose name was not released, contributed 260 times to the Japanese-language Wikipedia entry on Gundam, a popular, long-running animated series about giant robots that has spun off intricate toys popular among children and adults who belong to the so-called “otaku culture” of fascination with comic books, animation and robots.
Haha, it had to be the Japanese who would contribute so earnestly to such Wikipedia articles. Kinda funny.
