Is this new? If it isn’t, then I’ve certainly never noticed it there before. I know that Facebook is pretty good about privacy settings, but tonight was the first time I saw the privacy setting sliders for the public News Feed (what you see on the home page when you first log in).

You can get to them by clicking on the “Preferences” at the top of the News Feed.

On the same page where you can adjust the sliders, there is also a space to name up to 40 friends that you’d like the News Feed to feature more and less content from. So if you want to hear less about PersonX, then just add PersonX’s name to the space under “Less About These Friends”.

Great!

RE: becca
the news feed is also partially dependent on your Facebook browsing habits. So if you look at personX’s page a lot, his/her feed info will pop up more often, even if you put all the sliders down.

Facebook is crazy smart like that.
