VOX Amps advertises the VOX amPLUG as the perfect solution to jamming when everybody around you is asleep.

With the VOX amPLUG, you no longer have to worry about waking the neighbors when you want to practice. The VOX amPLUG is a small little device (slightly larger than two AAA batteries) that “perfectly reproduces the complex and warm distortion that is distinctive of a vacuum tube, as well as the powerful high gain produced by a large amp stack”. That’s pretty awesome if you ask me!

Even cooler is that the amPLUG is not just a personal amplifier. It’s a little more too because it allows you to plug in an external music device via an AUX-in jack so that you can practice alongside your favorite tunes!

The VOX amPLUG comes in three varietes — AC30, Classic Rock, & Metal — each producing its own unique blend of sound similar to their larger (and much louder) counterparts.

With up to fifteen hours of battery life, it’s easy to take amPlug anywhere. In addition to practicing at home, it’s a great way to warm up before a live performance or on the road. And amPlug is not just a convenient way to get great guitar sound. There’s also an AUX input jack so you can jam along with your CD/MP3 player.

I would imagine that these VOX amPLUG devices would go well with that Gibson self-tuning guitar. Simon would love one of these.
