Honda ASIMO robot touring Australia

Great news! Honda ASIMO, the humanoid robot developed by engineers at Honda, is touring Australia!

From October 17-21, ASIMO will be at the Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne to kick off the tour. Following those dates, ASIMO will appear in Bendigo, Adelaide, Newcastle, Sydney, and Brisbane!
The Honda ASIMO will perform a dance routine to ASIMO Alive (I think that’s the tune he’s dancing to) and will also show off some new soccer moves. One of the primary goals of the ASIMO engineering teams is to make the ASIMO robots as human-like as possible. That includes moving as naturally as any human and responding to the environment like a human.
I’m definitely going to try and catch a glimpse of this robot here in Melbourne. It’ll give me a good reason to go to Chadstone Shopping Centre, since I’ve never been there. I’m gonna go see me a robot!!! COOL!
More pictures of ASIMO inside (if you care to look).

You can see some photos of the most recent ASIMO at the Honda ASIMO website.
