I own both versions, (the old iPod Classic and the new iPod Classic), and when I got the new one, I almost THREW IT AWAY!
The interface lags, and is such a pain compared to my simplistic, older ipod.
I returned my new one.

you fail as a blogger. it is painfully clear from your post that you never even installed this on your ipod, yet you criticize anyway. this post should have been about a hack that represents a breakthrough in ipod hacking. yet instead, you chose to make it a way to rant about how much you dont like ipod classic’s UI. maybe you just really dont like the ipod classic and maybe you just though a post against a liked thing would make it more interesting. either way, you missed the point.

Wow what a retard!

every single one of your facts are wrong.
The firmware wasn’t developed to give it the same features it was developed to give users who like the classic feel the same look.
Secondly the search feature isn’t an update from the classic hack its built in to 5.5G ipods on a non edited firmware by default.
thirdly their are MANY other options other then this this was (again) Developed for the people who WANT the classic feel.
and finally it not “unofficial/unsupported” its a edited version of apple’s OFFICIAL 1.2.1 firmware

maybe you should get your facts strait before posting crap.

This is amazing cuz classic firmware is the best of any iPod to date. I had both the video and the classic but I say the Classic firmware is way easier to navigate. XD
