Perth photos (three of many)
Our third and final day in Perth, the weather was rainy and wet. However, despite the weather, the day turned out to be quite fabulous for several reasons. One was because I saw some wallabies for the first time. The second was because I saw the “city of colors” that my sister was telling me about just before I left on the trip.
Continue to see more photos from this day.

Even Australia has a “Central Park”!
Here’s the Millennium Man statues.

Chris & Maria posing with them.
Maria, Chris, and I walked to this little alley in Perth that was called “London Court” (I think). It was basically supposed to look like a little street in the countryside.

At the Australia Post store there, they sold 3.5″ floppy disks! WHO USES THESE?!

While walking about, we happened on a Crumpler store. I felt more than genuine inside this place since the bags originate from Australia.
Later on in the day, we walked to Heirisson Island, the place where wallabies roam and eat freely.

The view was great, even though it remained cloudy pretty much the whole day. That’s Chris.

Maria, Rainer, Chris, and Simon staring into the bit of sun that was peeking through the clouds.
And here it is…MY FIRST LIVE SIGHTING OF AN AUSTRALIAN WALLABY.

We’re all pretty much amazed at how close they are and at how funny they look when they hop around. Mind you, there were no cages or anything, so we were allowed to get as close as we wanted (though it doesn’t show in my photos).

Here is the wallaby scratching its balls.

I’m pretty close to this one. About two-arm’s length away. I could have kicked it or hugged it if I wanted. It also could have punched me in the face if it wanted.

Pelicans are a LOT bigger than I expected. THEY ARE HUGE.
Afterwards, while everybody went home, Chris, Maria, Rainer, and I decided to walk all the way around the lake (or body of water…I’m not really sure if it was a “lake” exactly). The sun was beginning to set and it was still wet everywhere, but we figured that it’s our last day and we might as well do it to see the city lights.

Here we are with the city behind us.
And despite some rain delays, the four of us eventually got home. We were VERY tired (the lake was a lot bigger than we thought). We had some dinner and then…went to bed to prepare for another big day tomorrow.

Thomas has some fantastic balancing skills.
Ok, stay tuned for more photos!! :)
