So every year, I celebrate my birthday. Most people do I guess (except Jehova’s Witnesses…they don’t celebrate diddly-squat!).
But this year in particular, I have a bit of a problem. My birthday comes TWICE! Yes, let me explain.
I was born on the East Coast of the United States at 8:32PM (according to my birth certificate). So every year I officially ring in my birth date at 8:32PM. However, because I am in Australia this year, 8:32PM will arrive 14 hours ahead of my official birth time. Of course, I can celebrate when it becomes 8:32PM here in Melbourne, but that means I’ll be an entire 14 hours early if I were to count my official life minutes from the East Coast.
So at 8:32PM, on Tuesday, October 23, in Melbourne, Australia, I will turn 21. And then, at 10:32AM, October 24, in Melbourne, Australia, I will once again turn 21 based on an accurate time shift from my official birth location. What a predicament this is! WHAT TO DO?!

mistake in your post???
RE: your big brother
where?
last paragraph, first sentence, you mean U.S.?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
RE: jane!
nope, I meant it exactly as I wrote it. I will be “celebrating” twice. once when Australia hits Oct 23 (which is 14 hours AHEAD of the US), and a second time on Oct 24 (when the US finally gets to Oct 23).
definitely celebrate it twice. definitely celebrate your 21st two times.
why don’t you celebrate 3 times? or 4? or 5? the more the merrier!
celebrate twice! It’ll be double the fun!!!
just celebrate for a long time…or consider yourself 22 by the second celebration.
