It’s funny because I know exactly where this photo is taken. I bike by this street all the time and it’s not very far from my house! And that friggin halal food stand guy is VERY MEAN. Here are some user-submitted designs to get your inspired.

Scott Schwebel submitted the image below. “More than ever New York City represents to the world all that is America and the dream of a better life,†Mr. Scwebel wrote. “Why not try and have that message reinforced everyday on the street with one of our highest profile city experiences/icons?†He said the creative challenge should have been framed simply: “Will it look good on a T-shirt?â€
Hmm, I think he’s right. The “Will it look good on a t-shirt” mentality would have at least produced a better logo than the official one they plaster everywhere now. At least it’s comforting to know that Milton Glaser’s iconic logo is still stocked at the NYC store.
