Early on Tuesday, October 23, the crew of the Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-120) lifted off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

One of my favorite things about the NASA website is its hi-res images of various space shuttle events. Actually, come to think of it, just about every major image from NASA can be found at hi-res somewhere on its site. Naturally, images from STS-120 can be found here (just click on the appropriate mission and/or day of events).

The Harmony Node

As the 23rd shuttle mission to the International Space Station (ISS), the crew of STS-120 will be delivering a Harmony Node to increase the overall space of the ISS interior as well as a number of other very technical things. You can read up about them all at the official STS-120 page.

Or, if you’re like me, just enjoy the hi-res photos.
