Google Maps profiles

Hmm…today when I went to check something at Google Maps, I was presented with a much longer string of links at the top navigation section (the place where Google usually puts links to other Google products and services).
One of those links was “My Profile” which I had never seen before. Since it was underlined in blue, I clicked it and it brought me to the page below.

I guess the profile page is to keep track of stuff that you do inside Google Maps. You can see maps you’ve created and businesses that you’ve rated. Not much else really, but it’d be interesting to see if Google expands this further with some of their other services.
