At caina.jp [translated] you can purchase this awesome computer keyboard calculator for a little over $45. [via]

The calculator comes in red, black, white, and beige.

I think this is a pretty cool battery or USB-powered extension to your desktop. But God knows that if those keys respond at all like an Apple keyboard’s keys, then I’ll throw that calculator straight out the window.

As cool as it is, the real question here is why anybody would want a calculator for their desktop when their laptop is sitting right there. I guess it’s good that the unit can be battery powered, so you can whip it out at business meetings and be all like, “AAAAANNNNNDDDD WHHHAAATTTT SSSUUCCCKKAAAA!!!”

Anyway, if all you miss on your laptop is the number pad of a traditional full-sized keyboard, then Logitech definitely has number keypads to help you out there.

I can see why you might want to use it, especially with a laptop… but $45, come on! I mean it’s hard to enter numbers fast on a keyboard when you’re used to the 3 row layout, that a laptop of course lacks, but get a calculator for $5. Heck, you can get a real adding machine for less then $45.
